PROPERTIES AND ACTIONS:

Esem contains phospholipids from the soybean seed and as an herbal remedy is used to relieve symptoms of liver disease. Esem relieves symptoms of liver damage / disorders, such as pain in the right upper abdomen and loss of appetite. Esem is particularly effective in patients who have toxic liver damage or nutrition associated liver damage as well as in chronic inflammation of the liver (hepatitis).

Phospholipids are the building blocks of liver cell membranes. The cell membrane is made up of two layers of phospholipids. It protects the living matter inside the cell from the outside and controls what goes in and out of the cell. When the cell membrane loses phospholipids, it is considered to be damaged and the function of the cell is weakened. Severe damage to the cell membrane can kill the cell. Your body can produce some types of phospholipids but others must be supplied by your diet. Phospholipids that can only be obtained through dietary intake are called "Essential Phospholipids".
